Description Aim: evaluate results of combination intraocular surgeries – phacoemulsification and pars plana vitrectomy Methods: We operated on 952 patients with combination of phacoemulsification and pars plana vitrectomy in years 2003-2008. Average age were 57 (21 – 87), 65% males, visual acuity 0.3 and worse. Indications: proliferative diabetic retinopathy 55%, retinal detachment 30%, hemophthalmos 6%, trauma 2%, macular hole 5% and uveitis 3%. Results: in 79% patient’s visual acuity was 0.5 and better, in 21% the same and worse. The main reason was maculopathy, scars in posterior pole, in 10% we must remove silicone oil or release traction fold. Conclusion: combination of anterior and posterior eye surgery is safe and effective. This approach economized devices and cut down the stress of patients.
