Description The authors inform about the grant project IGA MZ CR targeted to cases of sudden deaths of young people under 40 years of age, when even after an autopsy performed, and other laboratory examinations at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, we fail to determine the exact cause of death. Malignant cardiac arrhythmia as a possible etiology of death is then supposed. The project aims not only to introduce a genetic analysis of these sudden deaths of individuals and determine the frequency of genetic pathologies related to malignant arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies, as well as the clinical examination of direct relatives of the deceased by cardiologist, focusing on the identification of families at risk of sudden cardiac death. This examination and identification of causes of death will offer to relatives appropriate therapy and prevention of sudden death. We offer participation in the project to other forensic medical centers in the Czech Republic. Note: The post was created under the grant IGA MZ CR, NS Reg No. 10444-3
