Description Eosinophilia is a reaction to a specific T-cell immunity response, usually to allergens of external origins, or a parasitic (helminthic) infections, in exceptional cases to different types of infections as well (mycotic or bacterial). Increased eosinophil levels can be accompanying a wide range of diseases, of which some respond well to therapy, others less so. Every finding of elevated eosinophil levels requires a thorough examination; and if there is any pathological condition discovered, underlying the finding, appropriate treatment should be commenced.
