Description Cancer patients face a wide range of health challenges, including not only cancer treatment, but also injuries and wounds that may result from surgery, side effects of treatment, or a weakened immune system. This paper focuses on infection and wound care in cancer patients, distinguishing between different types of wounds, including surgical wounds, wounds caused by radiotherapy, and chronic wounds. Each type of wound requires specific care that includes thorough hygiene, monitoring for signs of infection, proper nutrition, and an individualised approach to treatment. Quality wound care is essential to prevent complications, speed healing and improve patients' quality of life. Finally, the need for comprehensive support from the healthcare team is emphasised, as is the importance of educating patients and their families about proper wound care practices and techniques.
