Description | Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) relies heavily on the quality of the distal attachment cap (cap) for successful lesion resection. This video presents the fi rst use of a novel 3D-printed cap, designed specifi cally for ESD, and evaluates its performance compared to commercially available caps. Fabricated from medically compatible materials using a 3D printer, the cap was tested in ESD procedures on porcine stomach models. Performance metrics included ease of manipulation, assembly, tissue retraction, and visibility. The 3D-printed cap demonstrated comparable manipulation and tissue retraction to the commercial version, with slightly reduced wall clarity that did not aff ect ESD performance. This cost-eff ective prototype shows promise as an alternative to conventional caps, with further studies needed to confi rm its clinical utility. |
