Miloš Holánek: Leading Specialist in Breast Cancer
For the past fifteen years, Dr Miloš Holánek has focused almost exclusively on the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, with a particular emphasis on young patients, whose numbers have unfortunately been increasing. He also specialises in the highly demanding area of oncology care for pregnant patients and women diagnosed during pregnancy.
In addition to his clinical work, he actively collaborates with patient organisations as a member of the Patient Council of the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute. He also serves as principal investigator or co-investigator in numerous international clinical and academic studies, helping to drive innovation in modern oncology.
Petr Štourač: A Key Figure in Czech and European Anaesthesiology
Prof. Petr Štourač, Head of the Department of Pediatric Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, Head of the Institute of Simulation Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, and the University Hospital Brno, and Vice-Dean for Development and Clinical Education in General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, was recognised for his long-standing contribution to acute medicine and medical education. He is the founder and academic guarantor of Akutne.cz, one of the most prominent Czech educational platforms dedicated to acute medical care.
Prof. Štourač also became the first representative from Czechia to receive the prestigious title FESAIC (Fellow of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care). This distinction is awarded to physicians whose work has significantly shaped the development of anaesthesiology and intensive care at the international level.
For example, Petr Štourač is a recipient of the Werner von Siemens Award in the category of Best Teacher (2020), and we would also like to highlight the Aesculap Academy Award for his contribution to the development of simulation medicine in the Czech Republic.
