Both days of the course were full. On both days the course was attended by 8 participants from the field of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care from many workplaces from all over the Czech Republic. The course was secured by trained lecturers of SIMU MED MUNI. Namely by Dr. Kamil Hudacek, Dr. Jan Hudec and Dr. Tereza Prokopova. Such a comprehensive course could not take place without excellent technical support from the team of technicians led by Jan Dvoracek and AV technicians under the leadership of Jiri Travenec. Methodologically the course was led by Dr. Tereza Vafkova with the aim of streamlining the skills of lecturers during debriefing. The main organizer of the course was prof. MUDr. Petr Štourač Ph.D. - the director of the Simulation Centre, and the guarantors of the course were assoc. prof. MUDr. Martina Kosinová, Ph.D. and MUDr. Jan Maláska, Ph.D., EDIC.

At the beginning of the course, participants made a tour of the broad teaching spaces and SIMU MUNI MED environment and then received an introduction to the theory and practice of the so-called soft skills (error and human resources management in emergency situations - CRM) which the participants trained in specific scenarios during the course. In total, there were 11 scenarios from the environment of operating theatres and a recovery room. The course also included a so-called hands-on workshop, during which participants had the opportunity to try out a surgical securing of the airways. At the end of each scenario, the crisis situation was discussed in detail in a so-called debriefing with lecturers and direct participants in the simulation.

Each day of the course was very intense and demanding. At the end of each day, the participants had a meeting with the lecturers, the organizer and the guarantors of the course and in the pleasant environment of the SIMU heliport they exchanged their feelings and feedback. This is extremely important for future courses. At the end the participants received certificates of successful completion of the course, which were unique being the first certificates in the Czech Republic.

We are looking forward to meet you at other courses focused on other skills. For example, we are already intensively preparing a course on Simulation of Critical Conditions in Intensive Care.
