At Taipei Medical University Hospital, I met with experts responsible for organizing graduate education. I gave a lecture there titled “Preparing Faculty to Teach Beyond the Diagnosis: Simulating in Holistic Education,” during which I presented, among other things, SIMU, our activities, and our approach to undergraduate and graduate teaching. This was followed by several meetings with local instructors, during which we shared experiences, tips, and tricks on instructional design, faculty development, and debriefing.
During my internship, I also visited National Taiwan University, where I participated in a co-taught class at the College of Law. I spoke on the topic “Evolving Perspectives: How Clinicians and Educators Engage with AI,” and we subsequently discussed with the students the ethical and legal aspects of using AI in medicine, as well as the differences in its application across countries. The class was attended by law students from NTU as well as from the University of Hamburg, who were there on an exchange program.

The visit of Prof. Emilio I. Alarcon, a globally recognized expert in regenerative medicine, brought to the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University a presentation of cutting‑edge biomaterials, intensive scientific discussions, and the opening of new possibilities for joint projects and student mobility between Brno and Ottawa. The faculty is thereby creating further opportunities that may lead to new international collaborations.
An interview with Nikola Kokešová, coordinator of the Junior Academy at Masaryk University's Faculty of Medicine, about how the project helps high school students open doors to the world of medicine.
