The Third Accredited Course on Critical Care Simulation in the Czech Republic Held at SIMU FM MU

A two-day course on Critical Care Simulation was held as a part of a specialisation training of doctors. A team of lecturers from the Department of Paediatric Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (Brno University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University) and Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine (Brno University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University) prepared high-fidelity simulations for doctors enrolled in the training programme in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine.

On 29 and 30 September 2021, the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, became the venue of the third Critical Care Simulation course in Brno. It was attended by as many participants as the capacity allowed, namely 16 from all over the Czech Republic. The doctors who came to Brno for the course had different experience in simulation medicine and different clinical practice. The two days thus allowed them to share and develop their skills and knowledge in 19 clinical scenarios set in the operating theatre, recovery room, and intensive care unit. Despite their personal differences, the level of enthusiasm and passion for the cause was immense in all of them.
For lecturers, technicians, and organisers, each such course is a very positive source of energy and an impulse for further development of simulations at the FM MU Simulation Centre. Therefore, everyone is already looking forward to other courses they will attend.
We wish the doctors who have completed the course to pass their specialty examination without problems.
