Newborn Life Support
In October and November 2019, 10 employees of anaesthesiology and resuscitation clinics of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University participating in the preparation of the teaching at the Simulation Center attended the Newborn Life Support course, held at the Institute for the Care of Mother and Child in Prague Podolí.
The NLS course is a certified course of European Resuscitation Council. It focuses mainly on the recognition of the critical condition of the newborn in the postpartum period, the subsequent prevention of progression of the critical condition into cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the newborn. The lessons were conducted in the form of simulations, preceded by short workshops.
The acquired skills and knowledge will be used within the project of the Simulation Center of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University.
