The Nursing course has currently been modified with regard to the amendment to Act No. 96/2004 Coll., which enables students of General Medicine to gain a professional competence of a Practical Nurse after, among other things, successful completion of 8 semesters of studies, acquisition of required practical skills, successful completion of chosen courses by examination and completion of holiday practical and nursing training in fourth and sixth semester of studies.

Up until now, the lessons of Nursing have been taking place in specialised classrooms of Department of Health Sciences, where they will continue to be taught for students of Healthcare study programmes. With the transfer of lessons into the teaching spaces of SIMU, emphasis is now being placed on higher activity of students and the necessity of online preparation before the practical part of the lesson. In the newly created interactive curriculum in the IS MU, the students have access to quality study materials, which they use for the so-called pre-class reading during the preparation for practical training in clinical workplaces (hospitals), but also in preparation for examination. With the start of teaching in SIMU, the philosophy and educational strategy of quality professional training of future general practitioners is thus partially changed, while maintaining contact with real practice and while also practicing nursing activities. We hope that the new concept of the course, taught in the new environment, will be successful and effective, and we look forward to feedback from teachers and especially students, to whom we wish a lot of success in the Nursing course and in their further studies.
