From 2 to 4 October 2019, the XXVI congress of the Czech Society of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine took place in the Brno Exhibition Center. The organization of the congress and the scholarly program was also largely attended by employees of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University and the University Hospital Brno, who significantly participated in the scholarly program, and were also represented in the scientific and organizational committee of the Society.

During the weekend of 14-15 September 2019, a certified EPALS (European Paediatric Advanced Life Support) course organized by the Czech Resuscitation Council (CRC) took place in Hradec Králové.

The AMEE (Association for Medical Education in Europe) annual conference, probably the biggest event focused on medical education worldwide, took place on 24 to 28 August 2019 in Vienna.

Petr Štourač is the head of the Department of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Resuscitation and also the director of the newly emerging Simulation Department of Masaryk University.

On Sunday, 9 December 2018, Bohunice University Campus held already the 7^th First Aid Simulation Course. The event was intended for students of all years of General Medicine and was organized in cooperation with the Brno branch of IFMSA CZ student organization.

A state-of-the-art simulation centre for the training of future physicians and other medical professions will begin to grow in the Bohunice campus of Masaryk University. The construction started today with university representatives and contractors laying the symbolic foundation stone. The new building should be open for students in the 2020/2021 academic year.

The 45-year-old AMEE (International Association for Medical Education) presented itself once again by a congress whose focus on the pedagogy of medical and health care disciplines is indeed exceptional. This year, the meeting of more than 3,000 participants took place in the medieval city of Basel on the border of Switzerland, Germany, and France.

The summer is slowly coming to an end, but the preparation of the Simulation Centre of Masaryk University’s Medical Faculty is running at full speed. The site of the future centre already shows the first significant structural changes. Neither the professional team is being idle. Between 6–7 September, a group of interactive teaching methodologists went to Linz, Austria, to improve their skills in creating simulating lessons.
