Popis The lecture summarised the findings of recent study on correlates and predictors of hope and mental health in time of Covid-19 pandemic. We collected data from 257 Czech adults of mean age 26.6 years. The results showed that higher hope was related to lower perceived stress and anxiety, and higher levels of mental health and sel-compassion. Specific coping stategies such as positive reframing, active coping, receiving emotional support, and nurturing spirituality served as independent predictors of higher perceived hope, while disengagement and self-blame were negatively associated with hope. The final part of the lecture addressed effective hope-enhancing strategies and interventions.
