| Popis | Recent studies have shown that, despite antibacterial therapy, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections are still associated with serious clinical consequences, especially treatment failure, higher morbidity and mortality, prolonged hospitalization, increased health care costs, etc. Some recently published derivatives with phenyl-carbamoyl-naphthyl alkyl carbamate moiety have shown excellent antimicrobial activities. The aim of this study was to investigate structure-activity relationships. Series of 70 compounds with different substitution on phenyl ring, position of naphthalene ring and alkyl of carbamate moiety was prepared. Preliminary results of basic antimicrobial screening showed that all compounds were active against MRSA, best of them possess comparable or much better MIC than standards ciprofloxacin and ampicillin. |
