Results of InGA - Start-up and Accelerate
In the InGA Start-up competition the following project proposals were successful: Kateřina Koždoňová, Nina Zemanová, Maryam Azam, Polina Navrátilová, David Galuška, Tamara Juriňáková, Sheetal Maria, Karolína Černovská, Mária Bugajová, Michelle Geryk, Klára Hánělová, Jiří Navrátil, Kateřina Petrláková, and Daniel Wojtas.
The InGA Accelerate competition also has its winners:
- Dáša Bohačiáková - Advanced induced pluripotent stem cell lines for Alzheimer’s disease modelling
- Sabina Ševčíková - Detection of extramedullary disease in multiple myeloma based on liquid biopsies
- Markéta Šuráňová - A nanopatterned surface on the artificial intraocular lens for prevention of secondary cataract

Seven Projects Receive GAČR Funding for 2025
Despite strong competition, a total of seven projects from applicants at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, will receive funding in 2025: six Standard projects and one Postdoc Individual Fellowship (PIF).
Funded Standard Projects:
- Jan Křivánek - Cellular basis of dental healing
- Zdeněk Andrysík - Empowering the p53 to trigger cell death in tumors
- Michal Masařík - Unraveling the potential of new generation polymethinium salts for migrastatic and photoactivated therapies
- Zuzana Kadlecová - Dynamic inverse problems in time-lapse microscopy
- Petr Fojtík - Subcellular biogenesis and trafficking of exosomes in the context of Alzheimer´s disease with a specific focus on SORL1
- Stjepan Uldrijan - Mechanistic insight into the eIF4F contribution to the development of melanoma resistance to clinical BRAF and MEK inhibitors
Funded PIF Project:
- Vladimír Sobota (joining the Institute of Physiology) - Mechanisms underlying alcohol-induced arrhythmias – in silico analysis using human heart models
Five projects have the Faculty of Medicine as the lead institution, while two are collaborative.

EDUC European Digital UniverCity Alliance
Collaborate Across Borders with the EDUC Seed Projects Call
The Call for Seed Projects under the EDUC alliance offers a fantastic opportunity for scientific collaboration between its partner universities. The goal is to support innovative projects reflecting the alliance's shared priorities, such as interdisciplinarity, sustainability, and societal impact.
Projects must involve at least two partners from EDUC alliance universities: Masaryk University, Czech Republic, University of Pécs, Hungary, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ukraine, University of Cagliari, Italy, University of Potsdam, Germany, University of South-Eastern Norway, Norway, University Jaume I, Spain, University of Rennes, France, University Paris Nanterre, France.
