At the beginning of February, the first ever professional adaptation training for academic staff took place at FM MU, attended by more than 60 employees who joined FM MU during 2022. We are planning another training before the beginning of the winter semester.

Free tick-borne encephalitis vaccination for employees
Employees of the Faculty of Medicine can take advantage of free vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis. The faculty offers this benefit to employees with an employment contract (regardless of the workload); the condition is tribal affiliation to the Faculty of Medicine.
The employees can be vaccinated by the faculty's contract doctor, MUDr. Kateřina Kolářová, or by any general practitioner - in this case, the faculty will reimburse the costs up to CZK 1,000 per dose; the receipt must meet the prescribed requirements. You can find more information on the website of the Personnel Department in the "Benefits" section.

MED MUNI project achievements

Supporting cutting-edge science through MEDCELL
In mid-January, a team around Assoc. Prof. Ales Hampl submitted a strategic project proposal to the Operational Programme P JAK. The MEDCELL project focuses on partnership and collaboration between basic/pre-clinical research and clinical medicine departments based on advanced cell and tissue engineering technologies.
The aim is to create a strong and consolidated network of basic/pre-clinical and clinical medicine researchers to address pressing clinical needs in essential areas of medicine with high societal impact (disorders of the nervous system, cardiovascular system, skeleton, skin and glands).

From 12th to 13th January 2023, the Faculty of Medicine as the main project coordinator held a kick-off meeting of the project FANTOM (Future of ALCL: Novel Therapies, Origins, Bio-Markers and Mechanism of resistance). This prestigious grant is funded by the Horizon Europe, MSCA Doctoral Networks.

What calls will be launched by GACR this year?
GACR will launch the Standard Projects call this February. The call will aim at all scientists and state-of-the-art basic research. Other launched calls will include International Projects, in which joint projects can be proposed by investigators from two or more countries, and the JUNIOR STAR and POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP projects for scientists at the beginning of their careers. EXPRO projects will not be launched this year and will be back in 2024.
The calls will be launched in the middle of February with expected deadline at the beginning of April 2023.
