Dear PhD Candidates,
I want to inform you about an important update regarding doctoral income. Starting September 1, 2025, there will be changes to the financial support structure for doctoral candidates. These changes are designed to improve the overall stability and transparency of doctoral funding.
More detailed information regarding the new income structure, eligibility criteria, and implementation timeline will be shared with you in the coming weeks. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and will be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your dedication and contributions to the research community. I wish you a restful and inspiring summer and some well-earned time to recharge.

|
MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation is the fourth edition of an international competition that supports the development of innovations in the healthcare sector. The program is organized by the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw, in collaboration with leading hospitals in Poland.
Innovations across the entire hospital ecosystem: from medical technologies to digital solutions and hospital management.
Participants from:
- research & development teams,
- startups,
- students and PhD candidates working on technologies for the medical sector
The best projects will receive:
- expert support and access to a tailored development program,
- the opportunity to present their solution to hospitals, investors, and policymakers during a dedicated event in September 2025,
- a chance to pilot their solution in real clinical settings.
Application deadline is June 15, 2025.

From June 1, 2025 Masaryk University organized a five-day retreat for PhD students and postdocs from the university alliance EDUC. Nearly 100 participants from 7 European countries and 8 universities addressed the topic of mental health of young researchers during lectures, workshops and networking activities. A team of lecturers from the Department of Medical Psychology and Ethics of the MU Faculty of Medicine provided the professional aspect of the retreat organized by the Centre for Doctoral Studies and Academic Affairs of the MU Rectorate. This very successful event highlighted the importance of addressing the neglected topic of mental health and well-being among PhDs and postdocs.

The Proshek-Fulbright Fellowship is intended for highly qualified members of the medical profession who are interested in expanding the boundaries of medical science and cultural ties between the Czech Republic and the United States. The program is intended for physicians and scientists in all fields of medicine and allied fields, including health care, dentistry, pharmacy, etc.
The purpose of the fellowship is to provide medical researchers with the opportunity to participate in observation, consultation, teaching, and research at the University of Minnesota Medical School. The fellowship is not awarded for clinical training.
