Training of first aid tutors in the Student as Teacher programme

The autumn term, in which trained student tutors taught first aid under the supervision of academics for the second time, is more than successfully over. In the spring semester, the lecturers, under the supervision of the methodologists of the Institute of Simulation Medicine, are dedicated to the preparation of future colleagues for the next years.

More than 70 interested general and dental students, who want to participate in teaching their younger colleagues, were mainly trained in theoretical first aid, simulation-based education and debriefing in the autumn semester. In the spring semester, they are already engaged in practical preparation. Guided by their older and more experienced colleagues, they have now practiced the practical skills necessary to provide first aid and, especially, to teach the subject. In the following workshops they will learn about the individual lessons and practice conducting simulations and debriefing in practice; all this with feedback from active lecturers and of course the methodologists of the Institute of Simulation Medicine. You can see what it looked like at the practical workshop with us in the multimedia attachment.
