The expansion and modernization of the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University has reached another milestone. The project will strengthen postgraduate, specialist and lifelong education for physicians and non-medical healthcare professionals, as well as medical student education.

Nearly 800 Students Complete Their Studies at MED MUNI This Year

Nearly 800 students successfully completed their studies at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University this year. Graduates included students of General Medicine, Dentistry and the Embryologist programme, as well as graduates of bachelor's and follow-up master's programmes in healthcare. The graduating class also included students from the Faculty's English-taught degree programmes.

The day of palliative care educators once again brought together experts from across Czechia

How can we develop high-quality teaching in palliative medicine, share best practice, and draw inspiration from new educational approaches? These were the key themes of the 2nd Day of Palliative Care Educators, held on 10 June 2026 at the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University. The event was jointly organised by the Department of Palliative and Supportive Care at the Faculty of Medicine MU, SIMU MUNI, and the Czech Society for Palliative Medicine.

The Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University has graduated its first cohort of General Medicine students who were educated in a simulation center from the very beginning of their studies. As a result, a completely new generation of doctors is now entering clinical practice.

Internship in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan

From March 14 to 22, I completed an interesting internship in Taipei, Taiwan. During the internship, I visited the Taipei Medical University campus, which includes a simulation center where I had the opportunity to observe demonstrations of teaching methods and facilities. I also discussed experiences with OSCE-based assessment with instructors from the center.

The visit of Prof. Emilio I. Alarcon, a globally recognized expert in regenerative medicine, brought to the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University a presentation of cutting‑edge biomaterials, intensive scientific discussions, and the opening of new possibilities for joint projects and student mobility between Brno and Ottawa. The faculty is thereby creating further opportunities that may lead to new international collaborations.
