The first European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Generic Instructor Course (GIC) held at the Simulation Center, Faculty of Medicine in Brno on the 13th and 14th of October 2024, was an outstanding success.
The candidates not only gained valuable insights but also acquired essential skills that will serve them well in future courses they teach. The sessions covered key areas such as leading discussions, teaching skills, conducting simulation-based teaching and assessment. Additionally, participants were introduced to important adult learning principles and effective methods for audience engagement. It was a great opportunity and an honour for me to be invited as the Educator for this course. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Prof. Petr Štourač, Dr. Martina Kosinová, Dr. Jana Djakow, and all the faculty, administrative and technical staff at SIMU for their warm hospitality, excellent work, support and professionalism. A massive congratulations to all the candidates!

Our colleague Martina Bruzlová has successfully obtained the IAF Endorsed™ Facilitator (EF) international certification awarded by the International Association of Facilitators (IAF). This is a prestigious qualification for professionals who are involved in facilitation, i.e. leading group learning and collaboration in various contexts. The certification confirms a high level of competence in the design, leadership, and reflection of group processes and is recognized in dozens of countries around the world.
