The first year of postgraduate courses at the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University is successfully over

We started it on 8 March 2021 with the long-awaited and first ever accredited two-day course on Critical Condition Simulation, which we have already repeated three times. So, in total, 59 participants completed the course with us in the first year.

Concerning simulation courses beyond specialty training, we have focused on one-day thematic courses related to the field of AIM not only for physicians, but also for non-medical medical staff. Our flagship one-day postgraduate courses, taught by 14 experienced FM MU academics, include Anaesthesia and Critical Conditions in Children, Critical Conditions in Adult Anaesthesia, Critical Conditions in Critical Care, which have been delivered to nearly 60 doctors. Four runs of the course Resuscitation for Nurses have reached no fewer than 40 participants.

The four full-day Adult Learning and Basic Course of Debriefing workshops, focusing mainly on adult learning theory and debriefing, have already had 28 participants, and there is a great deal of interest in further dates. Among the other educational events held at SIMU, we can mention the Course for Young Orthopaedic Surgeons, Vaginal Obstetric Extraction Surgery, the three-day Medical First Aid, the Summer School of Theoretical Basics of Clinical Medicine, the Communication in Practice workshop, Telemedicine in Practice or the four-day Nurse in Intensive Care course with a focus on anaesthesia.

At SIMU, the regular teaching of students takes precedence. That is why the annual list of postgraduate events organized in parallel with it is impressive and all those who participated in it deserve a huge THANK YOU with wishes for many more strength and undying enthusiasm in the years to come.
