SIMU hosted workshops for midwives

Midwives must be able to manage any unexpected situation. Practicing and training the acquired skills moves them to effective problem solving, strengthens their competencies, increases their work confidence, makes life saving more effective and improves teamwork.

On 13–14 May 2022, the 1st National Midwifery Conference took place in Brno. The conference was organized by the Centre of Midwifery at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of Masaryk University and the University Hospital Brno with the support of the Institute of Medical Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. The expert guarantor of the conference was PhDr. Miloslava Kameníková, the Head Midwife of the Centre of Midwifery at the GPK FN Brno.

The two-day conference consisted of practical workshops and conference lectures prepared to be as beneficial and useful as possible for midwives, nurses and doctors working with pregnant women. The workshops, which took place on Friday in the unique Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of MU (SIMU), were aimed at practical training of specific obstetric skills.

The workshops were attended by midwives from various parts of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
