Professor Martin Repko will continue his second term as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. At its May meeting, the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical Faculty of the Czech Republic decided on the appointment of two new vice-deans. Prof. MUDr. Eva Brichtová, Ph.D. will be the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and External Relations and the ranks of the management will be expanded by Mgr. Bc. Michal Koščík, Ph.D. as Vice-Dean for Personnel Affairs, Internal Organization and Legislation.
The 61st annual exhibition of medicinal plants is taking place at the Centre of Medicinal Plants of the FM MU. This gardenis located at Údolní 527/74 in Brno, the exhibition is open until 9 July daily including weekends from 9:00 to 18:00, admission is voluntary. The centre houses nine hundred species of medicinal plants grown non-commercially for the research and education of our students.
The European Commission is very positive about our recruitment and selection activities, our research support activities, i.e. information and support services, our internal grant schemes, and our orientation towards raising awareness and promoting gender equality, and sees our activities in education and training as a great advantage.
Nearly one hundred and fifty participants visited our Bohunice campus for Alumni Day. We prepared golden graduation ceremonies for the Jubilarians who graduated precisely fifty years ago.
High number of applications to MU: 42 310. This is more than last year.
Applicants submitted 42 310 applications to study at Masaryk University, of which the largest number of applicants were from our faculty. We are ready to admit almost a thousand students to Bachelor's, Master's and postgraduate study programmes, of which 430 to the General Medicine programme.

This year our invitation was accepted by Prof. Eva Brichtová, M.D., PhD, Deputy Head of the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. Prof. Brichtová is one of the few women who are engaged in neurosurgery in the Czech Republic. She will share her experiences and the challenges she has encountered during her work with early career scientists at the brunch.
