Masaryk Medical Summer School 2026
Medicine is one of the most important professions in the world. Do you agree? Is your ambition to become a doctor and help save lives? The first step is to be admitted to university!
We offer a unique experience to high school students who want to see what it is like to study Medicine in the beautiful student city of Brno in the Czech Republic. If you are interested in studying Medicine and would love to do so in Europe, Brno is the perfect place for you! By attending the Masaryk Medical Summer School 2026, you will not only see all the perks you can gain when you apply to our university, but you will also gain the experience of student life and get to live a week in a vibrant student city.
We will show you our modern university campus inside out, and give you access to the most modern Simulation Centre in Central Europe, where you can try out how our students are taught and get to experience what being a doctor feels like. Moreover, you will get access to our university hospital, where students have practical classes from their third year, and you will get to meet some of the experts in their field, who are also teachers of our General Medicine programme.

Summer school programme:
Day 1: Monday
Get to know the University Campus where the Faculty of Medicine is located and where your future studies could take place.
Discover the wonders of the human body at the Department of Anatomy and get to work with real specimens!
What happens when the human body doesn't develop as it should? We will visit the Museum of Anatomy at the Department.
Day 2: Tuesday
Visit the Department of Physiology, see the laboratories and try out some experiments! How do you find out a blood type? Is your posture good? How about your reaction time? Find out with us!
Brno - the place where Gregor Johann Mendel, the father of genetics, laid a foundation for Genetics and a place he called home. On this day we will visit the Mendelianum, the museum dedicated to this scientist.
Day 3: Wednesday
Basics of emergency: Will you be able to save someone if they need it? Let us help you find out the proper way to resuscitate and save a life!
The heart, a vital organ that pumps blood into your body. But what if there is a problem? How do we find out? One of our teachers and a great cardiologist will show you heart sonography and will explain how it works.
All of this will take place in our new Simulation Centre, which will be a part of your curriculum if you decide to choose us in your journey to become a doctor!
Day 4: Thursday
Visit the most modern Simulation Centre in Central Europe (SIMU) and see what lies ahead of you if you choose to study at Masaryk University.
Try out how it feels like to be a real doctor! A professional lecturer and a great surgeon will show you the proper way to suture a patient after surgery and you will get to try it yourself!
Did they tell you to break a leg? You will learn how to make a plaster cast in case that actually happens!
Where do the students meet patients? Visit the University Hospital and see where will your practical classes take place.
Day 5: Friday
End the week with another interactive day! The whole world of medicine is built on one profession - nurses. They are there to help you and assist doctors when we need it the most. We will head a look to the Department of Health Sciences.
Drawing blood? Cannulation? That's just a regular day for a nurse! You will get to try it out on your own and find out how difficult it can be!
Day 6: Saturday
After the whole week filled with new experiences, you might need to just relax and enjoy the surroundings!
For that reason, we will take you out to the city of Prague and show you the beautiful Prague Castle, the Astronomical clock, the Charles Bridge and much more!
The contents of Saturday's programme are subject to change depending on the weather and other variables.
* We organize evening programme for the participants according to their wishes. Activities available are e.g. bowling, laser tag, hike alongside the Brno dam and many more.

- You can apply to the Summer School from 15th March 2026 until July/August 2026.

- Masaryk Medical Summer School is for secondary school students aged 16+ years old.
