USMLE
The USMLE is a three-step examination for medical licensure in the United States. It assesses a physician's ability to apply knowledge, concepts, and principles, and to demonstrate fundamental patient-centred skills, that are important in health and disease and that constitute the basis of safe and effective patient care. The USMLE is a professional exam that medical graduates must take to enter US postgraduate clinical medicine programmes.
If you are interested in taking the exam, first enroll in the USMLE course in IS MU. General medicine students enrolled in this course will become familiar with the literature and electronic information resources necessary for passing the prestigious USMLE exam. The Study materials section of the course contains a USMLE seminar recording.
The Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University reports our students' and graduates' results of USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK to the US Department of Education in order to administer Federal Student Aid.

PATHWAYS
International medical graduates (IMGs) can use Pathways to meet certain requirements for ECFMG Certification and to participate in the National Resident Matching Program® (NRMP®) Main Residency Match® (The Match®). The Pathways evaluate IMGs’ clinical and communication skills—skills that are critically important to participate in U.S. graduate medical education (GME) and to provide supervised patient care. In order to become ECFMG certified, applicants must satisfy all other requirements for ECFMG Certification in addition to meeting Pathways requirements.
At the moment our graduates are eligible for PATHWAY 3.
USMLE SCHOLARSHIP
Our faculty awards active students with a scholarship for passing the USMLE steps (STEP 1 and STEP 2CK). Please note the scholarship can be paid only during your active study, not after graduation.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of a student's application up to a maximum of CZK 25,000. The scholarship application must be submitted no later than 1 year after the examination.
