What experiences make you a great ambassador?
From before I enrolled I was welcomed and guided by volunteering students to make my transition from small-town Norwegian high school to foreign university life as smooth as could be. Deciding where to study, dealing with paperwork and all that in an unknown language is not easy on your own. As ambassador and simultaneously representing the Norwegian Medical Student Association (NMSA) and the Association of Norwegian Student’s Abroad (ANSA), I’m here to help!

What advice would you give to new students?

There’s thousands of videos on study techniques on YouTube, and an equal amount of opinions on how to retain information and excel in your studies. While I’d love to aid you in all this, I think the hours not studying is of more importance. Taking time off for social breaks and sunlight and getting those 8 hours of sleep in is crucial if you want to carry through for the six years you’re here. It’s a marathon, not a sprint – take care of yourselves<3

What do you love most about Brno?

Brno is such a homely city for your studies! It’s got everything you need from your European metropolis, while still being small enough to familiarise with entirely. I think what I love the most about Brno is the high number of students, dominating the cityscape. Also, the cost of living is quite more pleasant than in Norway, making it easier to meet up with your colleagues at the numerous pubs, cafés and restaurants available.
