For the third time, you are all invited to a friendly gathering over coffee and breakfast in the campus library. On Monday, May 20, Tomáš Kašpárek will welcome Professor Martin Bareš, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and current Rector of Masaryk University.
Martin Bareš has been the Rector of Masaryk University since 2019. He is also a professor of neurology at the First Neurological Clinic of St. Anne's University Hospital and Faculty of Medicine. In 2011-2018, he held the position of Vice-Rector of MU; in 2018-2019, he was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
He will share with us his international experience with the Fullbright Scholarship, insights from important milestones in his career, and his recipe for combining clinical and research activities with high academic and managerial positions. Other topics for discussion can be defined by you. You can ask your questions, addressed to both panellists, in the registration form here.
At the previous breakfast on 9 April 2024, we met Zdeněk Andrysík, the new head of the research group "Molecular Mechanisms of Cancer" at the Institute of Biology, LF. He shared with us his experiences as a postdoc and early career in the United States, tips on choosing a lab, and about life in the US and grant opportunities there. He also answered many of your questions from the registration forms.
We are very excited about your interest in this meeting format and look forward to seeing you on Monday, May 20 at 8 am.
