We are launching a new pedagogical minimum course

The aim of the course is to be a practical guide for beginners and experienced lecturers working at our faculty.

The course, divided into 6 modules, provides an overview of the basic theories applied in the education of physicians and other non-medical health professions. The e-learning content focuses on the basic theories of adult learning, the role of the lecturer and student, building a safe environment and teaching methods. The text sections are enriched with infographics, video clips and reflection questions. There are examples from practice and tips for use in your own teaching. The course ends with a final test. The authors of the course are experienced lecturers from the Institute of Simulation Medicine, Dr. Jana Djakow and Dr. Tereza Vafkova.

The motivation for the creation of the course was to support the continuous development of pedagogical skills at the Faculty of Medicine. The launch of the course was scheduled for 17 November, as a celebration of International Student Day.

Completion of the Basics of Medical Education e-learning course will be mandatory for all academic staff at LF MU by the end of 2024. Existing employees will be gradually encouraged to complete the course by the faculty management, while new employees will do so as part of the adaptation process after they join.
