Every year, the competition is evaluated in three categories in accordance with the Rector's Award for Outstanding Teachers:
- a) the field of natural sciences and medicine,
- b) the field of social sciences and humanities,
- c) the field of economics and informatics.
The prizes were accepted by three young teachers during a reverential award ceremony on the occasion of the International Student Day and the Day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy on the 17th November 2020. The meeting was attended by the rector of MU Martin Bareš, the chairman of the MU Academic Senate Josef Menšík, the chairman of the Student Chamber of the AS MU Jiří Němec, the delegate of the Student Chamber of the Council of Higher Education Institutions Damir Solak and the former chairwoman Natália Antalová.
The award in the field of natural sciences and medicine was won by an international student, Deelan Vadher from our faculty. For the first time, an international student was awarded this prize. He is studying at the MU Medical Faculty in the 4th year of the master's degree program in General Medicine and not only runs his own educational website, but also "Teaches very passionately" and has "Helped with learning in distance mode during such an unpredictable situation."
Deelan Vadher adds: "I am incredibly grateful to have won this prestigious award. I hope it stands as a reminder to all international students at our university that anything can be achieved. I would like to thank everyone who nominated me, SKAS MU, and also all students who I have either taught, tutored or mentored over the last few years. I run my own education blog + tutoring website, I have been a teaching assistant at the Dept of Anatomy with Dr Joukal since 2017, I have created and taught practical anatomy dissection seminars and histology slide seminars. I have given 15+ lectures for MIMSA (for Anatomy and Physiology)."
In the field of social sciences and humanities, the award was won by Mgr. Michal Blažek from the Faculty of Law MU and in the third award in the field of economics and informatics was won by Mgr. Martin Macák from the Faculty of Informatics MU.
The awards were first presented by MU Rector Mikuláš Bek in 2016.
Congratulations to all the awarded students for their contributions to teaching.
