Defenses of dissertation thesis in doctoral study programmes at the Faculty of Medicine in February and March 2024
In February and March 2024, the following doctoral students became new graduates of doctoral study programmes at the Masaryk University Faculty of Medicine by successfully completing their studies and defending their dissertations:

- Veronika Fedorová, PhD, defended her dissertation “The role of microRNAs and protein-coding genes in neural differentiation of human embryonic stem cells“, supervisor Mgr. Dáša Bohačiaková, PhD, doctoral study programme Biomedical Sciences, specialisation Cell and Tissue Morphology.
- Monika Fňašková, PhD, defended her dissertation “Lifelong effects of extreme stress on the brain: Studying cortico-subcortical relationships using advanced magnetic resonance imaging techniques“, supervisor Prof. MUDr. Ivan Rektor, CSc., doctoral study programme Neurosciences, specialisation Neurosciences.

- Monika Kunzová, PhD, defended her dissertation “Consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages in association with obesity“, supervisor prof. MUDr. Bc. Zuzana Derflerová Brázdová, DrSc., doctoral study programme Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology.
- Michal Mahdal, PhD, defended his dissertation “Use of denosumab in the treatment of giant cell tumor of bone”, supervisor doc. MUDr. Tomáš Tomáš, PhD, doctoral study programme Surgery and Reproductive Medicine, specialisation Surgery.
- Soňa Měchurová, PhD, defended her dissertation “Bonebridge – bone conduction hearing implant: audiological benefit and quality of life in children”, supervisor doc. MUDr. Milan Urík, PhD, doctoral study programme Dentistry and Otorinolaryngology, specialisation Otorinolaryngology.
