From 19th to 23rd July 2021, a Summer School is taking place within the international Erasmus+ project called B.I.C.E.P.S. (Building Financial Capability for Healthcare Professionals) coordinated by the FM MU (Department of Nursing and Midwifery) in cooperation with colleagues from the Faculty of Economic and Administration MU and is attended by academics and students from three countries (Czech Republic, Italy and Slovenia). The students from the Czech Republic attend study programmes of General Nurse, Midwifery and Paramedic. From Italy and Slovenia, students of Physiotherapy, Pedagogy and Economics also take part.

Educational activities are focused on financial literacy in relation to professional knowledge and skills, i.e. the health literacy of patients and health professionals. With regard to epidemic measures, all activities are carried out in a virtual environment (originally the summer school was to take place in Udine, Italy). After the first hours and first days, we are happy to say that the students are very active and creative, come up with original ideas and we believe that they will learn a lot. We would also like to express our hope that it will be possible to hold a summer school in Slovenia in person next year.

We wish all participants a lot of strength, positive experiences and a lot of new knowledge - the project team B.I.C.E.P.S.
