53 applications were submitted to the Czech health research council:
A total of 11 projects were supported in the 2022 competition, with a total of 90 987 000 CZK allocated.
The faculty has succeeded with the Central European Advanced Therapy and Immunotherapy Centre (CREATIC) project in the 2nd round of the prestigious Teaming for Excellence call of the Horizon Europe programme. The European Commission grant, supplemented by national co-financing, in the total amount of approximately EUR 35 million, will enable the construction of a research centre for the development of cell and gene therapies aimed at the treatment of paediatric and adult patients with selected rare diseases.
Academics from LF MU have been involved in dozens of international projects under Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, NIH, Wellcome Trust, Erasmus+, Interreg, etc.
Zuzana Sumbalová Koledová passed the second round of ERC Consolidator grant evaluation, where she received an "A" rating and her project will be supported for 5 years by the Ministry of Education and Science.
LF MU received its first foreign postdoc under the prestigious international MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships scheme. Dorian Goueytes will join Milan Brázdil's team and investigate the decision-making process and the processes that follow after making a decision at the neurological level.
The COVID-19 INFODEMIA project: an AI communication platform to counteract infodemia in relation to journalistic and media ethics, has become the absolute winner of the TA ČR Awards for 2022. The Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses of the Faculty of Biostatistics of the Medical Faculty of Masaryk University cooperates with the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University and Newton Media.
In 2023, the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic will support 7 projects of applicants from LF MU.
The LF MU Internal Grant Agency supported a total of 15 new projects in 2022 - 12 in the Start-up grant scheme and 3 in the Accelerate scheme.
2 researchers from LF MU succeeded in the MU Career Restart Grant Agency's call to support the return to scientific career after a break caused by e.g. parental leave.
The Fund for Support of Excellent Publications supported 80 publications by first or corresponding authors from FM MU, classified in the Q1 and Q2 categories of Web of Science for a total of 5 153 000 CZK.
595 articles were published in a journal with impact factor:

4 results from FM MU authors received the highest possible evaluation in Module 1.
At the Department of Medical Genetics and Genomics and the Department of Physiology, 2 new research groups were created.
In total, there are 20 research groups at the FM MU.

In 2022, the first internal faculty-wide evaluation of research and doctoral studies took place.
Based on the evaluation, the 12-member ISAB, composed of internationally renowned experts, made recommendations for the further strategic direction of the faculty and the development of research and doctoral studies.
Also this year, scientists from MED MUNI received many awards and recorded significant achievements in their research activities.

There are many new milestones and exciting challenges ahead. One of the biggest will be the launch of the CREATIC project (Teaming for Excellence call from Horizon Europe) in September.
