SCaLPEL project hosted a Summer school of Neurosurgery.

7 Sep 2022

The Summer School of Neurosurgery was held at the Department of Anatomy and Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine on 29th August – 2nd September 2022 as part of the Erasmus+ project SCaLPEL (Surgery Collaborative and Long-term Practical Experience Learning) lead by assoc. prof. Marek Joukal, Ph.D. The programme included both theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations and training of surgical procedures. The SCaLPEL project is another of the ERASMUS+ projects coordinated by FM MU with partners from Poland (Poznan University of Medical Sciences), Croatia (University of Zagreb) and Italy (Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan). The aim of the project is to share knowledge, experience and practical skills of PhD students and academic staff through international student placements at partners institutions. During the placements, the participants will actively participate in the simulation of specialized surgical procedures under the guidance of experienced physicians, thus increasing their professional competences.

The International Summer School can also be organised as a one-off event within the Erasmus+ programme. If you have two international partners and are interested in organising a summer school in 2023, please contact us and we will help to provide funding.
