BIO-CAT aims at developing Excellence Center in Catalytic Biomaterials for Biomedical Applications . This will be accomplished by twinning Masaryk University (MU), Czech Republic, with two outstanding European institutions: Heriot-Watt University (HWU), United Kingdom, recognized for pushing the boundaries in quantum science and University Hospital Regensburg (UHREG), Germany, with strong expertise in the control of biomaterial-borne infections and bone-related research. This strategic partnership will help establishing a powerful Excellence Center in Catalytic Biomaterials at MU, increasing its institutional position in the field of catalytic biomaterial engineering, advanced free radical/ROS detection methods, infection management, and translational validation in clinically relevant scenarios.
