Description The bronchopleural fistula with postpneumonectomy empyema is one of the most difficult complications in the thoracic surgery. The occurence after pneumonectomy is between 2 to 12%. The patients after chemo-radiotherapy are susceptible for this complication. The drainage, Elloesser pleural window with open sterilization, clean-up is usually used. The muscolobronchoplasty and Adews thoracomyopleuroplasty is the successful surgery definitive procedure.
