Description In order to map the occurrence of Ixodes ricinus ticks and their penetration by spirochetes from the Bbsl family in various localities, field research was carried out in the cottage area of Uherský Brod - "Havřické vinohrady". This research is carried out under the auspices of the Department of Animal Physiology and Immunology, Faculty of Science, MUNI under doc. RNDr. Alena Žákovská Ph.D. Chosen area is located near former swamp and there is a known occurrence of Lyme disease. Sampling was performed by the flagging method and meteorological quantities were also measured for possible observation of correlations. A total of 1368 samples were collected, the critical month of occurrence was May, when 108 ticks per hour were found in one collection. A correlation of the occurrence of Ixodes ricinus with temperature (with the exception of the summer months) was also found, and the penetration of ticks with Bbsl spirochetes from March 2019 was 5.95 %. According to the collected data and in comparison with other places, this locality is completely suitable for this research.
