Description Thoracic Outlet Syndrome is a not very frequent syndrome, affecting especially young patients, predominantly women. Its symptomatology is caused by compression of a nervous and vascular plexus in a physiological isthmus in the upper thoracic aperture. The symptoms can be divided into neurological and vascular ones. Initially, treatment should always be conservative including rehabilitation unless an acute vascular event occurs, which is an indication for surgical intervention. In this paper the author describes his experience with diagnostics, treatment and results with TOS at a surgical department which has been dealing with this issue for a long time.
