Isolates, originated from hospitalized and ambulatory patients in St. Anne*s University Hospital Brno, were screening in 2007- 2009. The stems resistance was determined by the antibiotic disc diffusion method. Susceptibility to oxacilin, erythromycin, clindamycin, co-trimoxazole, doxycycline, cefoxitin, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, vancomycin, teicoplanin, rifampicin, linezolid were tested. Isolates were examined from 59 patients. All MRSA were resistant to oxacilin and cefoxitin. The erythromycin-resistance was monitored in 44 cases (74,6 %) and clindamycin-resistance in 36 cases (63,2 %). Any resistance to vancomycin, teicoplanin and linezolid were found. MRSA resistance to the rest of testing antibiotics was low: co-trimoxazole 3 cases (5,3 %), doxycycline 1 case (1,8 %), chloramphenicol 2 cases (3,5 %), gentamicin 4 cases (6,8 %) and rifampicin 2 cases (3,5 %) resistant.
