Masaryk University's vice-rectorial team is expanded by two women. Jana Fialová, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs at the  Faculty of MedicineMU, is in charge of the Vice-Rectorial Portfolio for Student Affairs and External Relations as of 1st May. Monika Jandová, the current Vice-Dean for Internationalisation at the  Faculty of Economics and Administration MU, will become Vice-Rector for Personnel Policy, Lifelong Learning and Sustainability from 1st September.

"I have long been of the opinion that women should be better represented in the governing bodies of Masaryk University. I am trying to implement this personnel policy, for example, in the Masaryk University Board of Trustees, and I believe that the Academic Senate MU will support my intention. I have high expectations from the new members of the Vice-Rectorial team - whether it is the sustainability portfolio at the Vice-Rectorial level, which makes it clear how important this topic is for our University, or the experience of Vice-Dean Fialová, who comes from our most successful faculty in terms of the number of applicants and applications received," said University Rector Martin Bareš, who should also have a new statutory representative from 1st September. This should be the Vice-Rector Radim Polčák, who will replace Břetislav Dančák in this position.

Jana Fialová has been employed at Masaryk University since 2008. She has been working mainly in the field of prevention of non-infectious and infectious diseases, health education and healthy lifestyle, she also specializes in occupational hygiene and public health protection. Since 2012 she has been working as an assistant professor at the Institute of Public Health at the MU Faculty of Medicine and since 2018 as the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine MU. She is a member of the MU Accommodation Committee, the Editorial Board of M Magazine and the Programme Board of the Telč University Centre. "When the Rector informed me of his intention, I did not think long, to my own surprise. My only condition was that Martin Repko, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at MU, agreed to it. I enjoy working and communicating with students, both in the field of teaching and in the field of faculty and university life and work with associations. I believe that I will make use of my experience, having devoted myself to such a special portfolio for many years. I would like to bring the current atmosphere, climate and internal communication that we have managed to build at the Faculty of Medicine MU thanks to the current Rector and former Dean of the Faculty Martin Bareš and further develop with the current Dean Martin Repko to the university-wide level," added Jana Fialová.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Martin Repko accepted Jana Fialová's official request for termination as Vice-Dean, saying: "During her tenure as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at MU, Vice-Dean Jana Fialová has stabilised and developed the professional portfolio entrusted to her in an absolutely excellent way. She was not only a solid part of the FM MU management, but also a wonderful partner in dealing with students and student associations, among many other activities. I wish the Vice-Rector a successful tenure at Masaryk University and I am firmly convinced that her work will further enrich MU and contribute to its further development."
