New International Call Announced for Rare Disease Research
The European ERDERA partnership has launched its second joint transnational call: Resolving unsolved cases in rare genetic and non-genetic diseases
InGA Start-up - call for 2026 and 2027
Start-up grants (SUp grants) are intended to support pilot projects of new research programs. The aim is to acquire pilot data, introduce and verify a new methodology and acquire data for the development of a full-fledged project funded by an external grant agency in the future. A necessary output of the project is the submission of a project proposal to external grant agencies, with the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in the role of the main applicant/co-applicant.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be:
- a) a researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University (FM MU), who, in the year the project proposal is submitted, meets the condition that no more than 8 years have passed since the award of the academic degree of Ph.D. or its equivalent. The proposer must obtain this degree no later than the project start date; or
- b) a Ph.D. student at FM MU with their training workplace at FM MU, where the project supervisor in the ISEP system and the principal investigator is the student’s supervisor.
- If the project supervisor is a Ph.D. student, the resulting output (a follow-up project with an external agency) must be submitted through their supervisor.
The project must:
- Support the objectives of the SuP grant scheme;
- Align with the strategic goals of the applicant's department and FM MU;
- Clearly demonstrate, through the project description, the need for support in preparing a proposal for an external grant competition;
- Clearly justify the need for funding in the budget and its rationale, especially for expenses such as consumables, salaries and related statutory deductions, and possibly external services, for the purpose of acquiring pilot data and verifying new methodologies.
Project Proposal Submission
- Project proposals must be submitted electronically via the ISEP system and written in English.
- Deadline for submission: October 10, 2025
- Faculty deadline for approval of the project proposal in ISEP: October 14, 2025
Funding Rules
- Maximum grant amount: CZK 500,000 per project
- Maximum project duration: 2 years
- Total call allocation: CZK 3,500,000
Eligible Costs
- Personnel costs (salaries, remuneration, agreements to perform work, and agreements to complete work for individuals involved in research activities necessary to complete the project result), including statutory deductions and social fund contributions
- Scholarships
- Consumables
- Minor tangible and intangible assets
- Services
- Note: Administrative staff costs cannot be covered.
Ineligible Costs
- Investments
- Travel expenses
- Costs that cannot be funded from public resources (e.g., refreshments)
Project Implementation
- Implementation period: 1. 1. 2026 – 31. 12. 2026 / 31. 12. 2027
- Final report submission deadline: 30. 6. 2027 / 30. 6. 2028
- The final report must be submitted electronically via the ISEP system.
