Description The aim of this study was to determinate the frequency of lactotransferrin gene polymorphism 140A/G and its association with dental caries and gingivitis in children in Czech population. It was not established statistically significant differences in genotypes and/or in alleles LTF 140A/G polymorphism between the groups of children with caries experience and without caries exoerience. In the group with the different caries experience was established the same result. Gingivitis was evaluated in 53,4% of children. The difference in frequencies of alleles and also genotypes of LTF 140 A/G polymorphism between children with healthy gingiva and gingivitis was not statistically significant. The polymorphism 140A/G in LTF gene was not associated with formation or with level of caries experience and the presence of gingivitis in children in Czech population. This polymorphism is not risk factor of dental caries.
