The ceremonial session of the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, took place at the Hotel International on 25 September 2025. The agenda included two qualification procedures.
Members of the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, met for a ceremonial session on 25 September 2025 at the Hotel International. The agenda of the meeting included two qualification procedures.
The first proposal concerned the appointment of Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Roman Panovský, Ph.D., Deputy Head for Science and Research at the 1st Department of Internal Medicine–Cardioangiology of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, and St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno, as Professor in the field of Internal Medicine. The proposal was presented by Prof. MUDr. Lubomír Elbl, CSc., Chair of the Evaluation Committee. The candidate delivered a lecture to the members of the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, MU, entitled “Non-invasive Diagnostics of Early Stages of Heart Diseases.”
The Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, MU, proposed the appointment of Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Roman Panovský, Ph.D., as Professor in the field of Internal Medicine.
The second proposal concerned Mgr. Tomáš Bárta, Ph.D., Head of the Tomáš Bárta: Stem Cell Biology and Vision Research group and Assistant Professor at both the Department of Histology and Embryology and the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, MU, for appointment as Associate Professor in the field of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology. The proposal was presented by RNDr. Petr Dubový, CSc., Chair of the Habilitation Committee. The candidate then delivered a lecture to the members of the Scientific Board entitled “Retinal Organoids as a Tool for Studying Retinal Development and Diseases.”
The Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, MU, proposed the appointment of Mgr. Tomáš Bárta, Ph.D., as Associate Professor in the field of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology.
Both proposals will be submitted to the Rector of Masaryk University. In conclusion, Dean Prof. MUDr. Petr Repko, Ph.D., thanked the members of the Scientific Board for their participation and announced that the next meeting will take place on 27 November 2025 at the Faculty of Medicine in the SIMU building.
Members of the Scientific Board of the Masaryk University Faculty of Medicine met for their final session of the year at the Simulation Centre. The key agenda items included the discussion of three habilitation procedures and a proposal to award an honorary doctorate to the dean of a prestigious American medical school.
Volunteers from IFMSA CZ Brno transformed the Brno shopping center Olympia into an improvised clinic over the weekend of November 15-16. On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, they offered passers-by a moment to pause, free examinations, and important education on preventing lifestyle diseases.
