On 29th March, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Petr Gazdík presented appointment decrees to a total of 80 new professors. Four of them work at the Faculty of Medicine MU.
On the proposal of Scientific and Artistic Boards, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Petr Gazdík presented appointment decrees to 80 professors on Tuesday, 29th March 2022 at a festive assembly in the Grand Hall of the Karolina in Prague, which is the traditional venue for the handing over of professorial decrees. Czech President Miloš Zeman appointed the 80 professors on 15th December 2021, however, due to the epidemiological situation, the ceremony was postponed until March this year. Four professors were appointed from the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University:
doc. MUDr. Libor PAŠA, Ph.D., who was appointed for the field of Surgery. Professor Paša is the Head of the Department of Traumatology at the Trauma Hospital, which is a shared department of the Faculty of Medicine MU
"The achievement of a professorship is a significant award referring to excellence in teaching and outstanding work in science, research or the arts. Your appointment today, which is a recognition of just such activity, is a sign of immense dedication, patience, and purposeful daily work. This work, however, may not always be sufficiently appreciated, and therefore I would like to thank you, professors, very much for your work, which you do not only for the development of your fields but also for the popularization of higher education, science and research in the Czech Republic and abroad," commented Minister Petr Gazdík on the appointment of professors.

The Critical and Creative Thinking Course is a two-block series of workshops whose aim is to broaden and improve repertoires of Masaryk University staff´s critical and creative skills, strategies and techniques. It offers hands-on experience and practical insight into dealing with situations of professional character that have open solutions.
On Monday, 11 March, Brain Week, an event that focuses on brain research and neuroscience, started. For the first time, the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital in Brno joined the event in cooperation.
