The 31st Congress of the Czech Society of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine (ČSARIM) offered a rich programme of lectures, discussions, and meetings of leading specialists in the field. The event also highlighted the activities of experts associated with the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University, who received several prestigious awards. Their achievements confirm the strong and longstanding position of the faculty in clinical research and education and serve as an inspiration for colleagues and students.

The ceremonial opening included the presentation of the Dvořáček Award for the best original publication. The award was granted to Dr Tamara Skříšovská from the Department of Paediatric Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation (KDAR) and the Institute of Simulation Medicine at LF MU for her article Ventilation efficacy during paediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which examines the effectiveness of ventilation during paediatric CPR.

In the category of the best professional monographs, Professor Petr Štourač, Head of the Department of Simulation Medicine, received the Kalenda Award together with a team of authors for the publication Urgent Medicine. This comprehensive textbook serves as a guide for physicians preparing for certification exams and as a practical resource for doctors, paramedics, and nurses in their daily work.

Attention was also drawn to the award presented to Dr Martina Klincová from KDAR, outgoing Chair of the Young Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists Section of ČSARIM, for her lifetime contribution to the field. The honour symbolically recognises her extensive and systematic work that reaches far beyond a single institution. Finally, Dr Bianka Kořínková completed the list of faculty successes by winning the congress poster section.
