March 2025 in Science at our faculty
We bring you a selection of the most interesting things in science and research at our faculty in the first spring month of 2025
In this year's programme of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic to support medical applied research, the Czech Health Research Council supported 15 projects of applicants from LF MU.
In 2023, 11 projects were supported by the Council. In a year-on-year comparison, the faculty again recorded an increase in supported applications.
For 8 of the supported projects, the FM MU is the principal investigator, and for 7 projects, the FM MU is the co-investigator.

A team of scientists led by the head of the research group at the Department of Biology, Nicola Silva, has made a significant achievement in research into the reduced or impaired function of the Synaptonemal complex, which may be one of the causes of sterility. The paper by an international team of authors was published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature Communications in March 2025.
