Description Underwater single and double diaphragm discharge were used for surface modification of polypropylene nonwoven. The discharge was generated in distilled water. Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) was used to determine temperature and density of the plasma electrons. The total surface free energy (SFE) was determined from the measurements of the contact angles. It was found that the double diaphragm arrangement improved the uniformity and wettability of PP treatment.
