| Description | The paper describes the most numerous occupational exposures to carcinogens at the work environment in the Czech Republic. It provides an overview of the most frequent cases of occupational cancer in the country. Next, it summarizes the procedures of medical investigation for verification of occupational origin of cancer tumors, the principles of recognition of occupational diseases under applicable law, and the basic rules of their compensation. Within two case reports the paper describes the typical cases of occupational cancer - malignant mesothelioma after the exposure to asbestos, and lung cancer after the exposure to ionizing radiation and radon. |
