Description | Isolated Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) was characterized by gel electrophoresis and final samples were prepared by mixing with Quantum Dots (QDs) in different ratios. After injection of samples on the polystyrene surface and drying in the nitrogen atmosphere samples were analyzed by LIBS and fluorescence imaging. These data allowed the construction of 2D maps showing the spatial distribution of QDs in the spot. It follows from the results obtained that fluorescence of QDs was significantly lowered by interaction with GFP and vice versa fluorescence of GFP was lowered by interaction with QDs. This expected effect was confirmed concurently with fact that LIBS signal is not affected by presence of GFP. |
