Description Monograph of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Corrective Dermatology is intended to the medical professionals. It is edited by prof. MD. Pavel Brychla, Ph.D., and Jan Stanek, M.D. FRCS, a prominent British plastic surgeon of the Czech origin working at London. Other authors represent eminent Czech plastic surgeons and dermatologists. Ihe introductory part presents history of aesthetic plastic surgery and corrective dermatology at home and abroad, the genesis of surgical techniques and portrays the most important persons in this field. It also describes the anatomy and pathology of the skin. The general part includes important preoperative procedures, i.e., patient selection, proper photographic documentation, anaesthesia options, and psychological aspects of patients in plastic surgery and corrective dermatology. Special part systematically discusses the most important surgical and non-surgical procedures at the head and neck, as well us at the trunk and limbs. A separate chapter is given to the corrective dermatology and aesthetic laser surgery and the last chapter deals with the combined plastic-surgical and laser procedures. The book is accompanied by a DVD with a complete visual documentation and video clips. The aim of the authors was to describe comprehensively the current stale of aesthetic plastic surgery, corrective dermatology and aesthetic laser surgery. This topic is popular and frequently reported at media, and the book should therefore help doctors who deal with the given issues to understand more deeply the options that are available today, without the marketing aspects that are otherwise accompanying the treatment methods in other commercial books.
