Description Erectile dysfunction is associated with the endothelial dysfunction and/or with the atherosclerosis and silent myocardial ischaemia. Endothelial dysfunction is the first stage of cardiovascular diseases. Men with erectile dysfunction must be examined in connection with cardiovascular disease including coronary artery disease. Dia gnosis and therapy of ED in men with cardiovascular diseases is based on the principles of the Princeton Consensus. Oral form of ED treatment using PDE5 inhibitors and intracavernosal injections of prostaglandin E1 in men with cardiovascular diseases is safe, effective and is well-tolerated.
